Learn & Build from Outdoor Twitter Chats

Twitter Chats are growing. They are a great way to connect with others who share your same interests. We want to pass onto to you three Twitter chats we are involved each week that focus on the outdoors.

Capture#hikerchat hosted by Teton Sports, #ChatOutdoors hosted by Campfire Meals and #GearMeOut hosted by Ultimate Survival Technologies. Each week they offer a topic relevant to getting outdoors as well as a weekly co-host. A few weeks ago we were co-hosts for UST’s #GearMeOut and talked about Leave No Trace Principle 1.

Twitter chats are a great way to build community and connect with others. As a result of being involved each week we have not only connected on Twitter, but have and are building friendships with others who share our same passions for the outdoors through other means of communication and even resulting in meeting up in the near future for some hiking adventures.

Another benefit to getting involved in Twitter chats is education. Many of us have experiences from our adventures in the outdoors, but all of us can still benefit from learning. Teton Sports is an authority on backpacks, tents and sleeping bags creating and manufacturing their own gear, but they take the time to not only grow their community but also grow FROM their community. All of us, no matter what our skill level or experience can and has learned from being involved in Twitter chats.

So if you’re on Twitter we suggest checking out these three outdoor Twitter chats. If you’re not on Twitter, then sign up, because you’re missing out on an awesome community of hikers, backpackers and adventurer’s.

Teton Sports offers on their website a guide for their #hikerchat – “What is it? Your Guide to the Digital Outdoors.”
