What does #LHX2018 stand for? Good question. It stands for Laurel Highlands Experience 2018.
When: April 29-May 5, 2018
Where: Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, Pensylvania
What is it: A five-day backpacking trip beginning on the north end of the trail and ending at Ohiopyle, the south end.
Distance: Seventy Miles
To bring together a small group from the outdoor community known for their social media interaction and connect in person on the trail sharing our experiences, skills, and ideas. To inspire others to connect through an outdoor experience and encourage people to take part in the second purpose for this project…Gear Forward.
Through this event it’s my goal to encourage people to donate financially, donate gear, or both to Gear Forward to help equip the next generation as well as spread the word about Gear Forward and what Scott Gauvin is working to accomplish.
The third purpose of our annual #LHX adventure is to expose others to one of my favorite and sometimes over looked trails in Pennsylvania, the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.
In the weeks and months to come, we will reveal further details about #LHX2018 such as team members and brand sponsors but more importantly how YOU can give back and help kids get outside by donating used or new gear to Gear Forward.
HBF Outdoors is about inspiring you to get outside and connect with others through an experience, and #LHX2017 accomplished that goal. We connected on a level that truly matters. By design, we as humans crave interaction and REAL connections with others who share our likes, interests, and passions. And while we will say we enjoy social media because we can “connect” with others. Nothing can ever replace real life connections where eye contact and body language go hand in hand with conversation. The truth is social media is not the place to truly “connect.” If you believe that you’ve been misinformed and also missing out. Here’s my advice on what #LHX is all about; use social media as a tool to network, to make initial connections, but get outside WITH people, truly connect, and watch what happens to your life through real life experiences.
In the meantime, we are working on building the team. If you’d like to take part in #LHX2018 as a team member or a brand sponsor you can contact us here for further information. Let the adventure begin!
Remember, life is like hiking, it’s taking one faithful step at a time.
